THE ROLE
The Director, Office of the Deputy Secretary, Fairer Victoria, Engagement and Coordination (FVEC) oversees the functions of the Office of the Deputy Secretary, including strategic advice to the Deputy Secretary, divisional finance and reporting guidance, divisional grants reform and coordination.
Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, the Director works closely with the Fairer Victoria, Engagement and Coordination executive team and across government to ensure the division delivers on organisational and portfolio priorities.
This position requires a sound understanding of government or other relevant organisational environments, extensive experience leading business units and delivering organisational outcomes, and demonstrated leadership and management capability.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide authoritative advice to the Deputy Secretary and senior executives on key organisational and strategic opportunities and initiatives, including options for transformation and business improvement.
- Drive the delivery of key priorities in a government environment through the effective use of process, planning and liaison to achieve deadline-driven outputs without sacrificing quality.
- Initiate, manage and maintain close liaison and effective relationships with senior government stakeholders, including representing the division and/or department on committees and taskforces etc.
