**The Role**

APRA is seeking to appoint a Program Director, Transformation (General Manager), to lead the project delivery teams aligned to APRA’s technology and data transformation projects. The primary objective of this role is to manage the execution of a large complex transformation program within APRA.

**The Team**

The role is a member of the APRA Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the Technology and Data Executive Leadership team reporting to the Executive Director Technology and Data.

The Technology and Data Division supports APRA with frameworks, technology and systems that support APRA technology operations and its mandate to help protect the Australian community through data enabled decision making.

**You will be responsible for**
- **People**. Lead a team of professionals to deliver high quality outcomes, fostering an inclusive environment that creates a sense of belonging and trust and allows people to actively contribute and reach their full potential
- **Program management and project delivery. **Provide an end-to-end program view for all data initiatives supporting the anticipated data governance uplift required
- **Collaboration. **Oversee the pilot transitioning to an integrated data delivery model which brings together people from all the required areas of the organisation (matrix structure), including the various IT teams to create long running and persistent cross-functional delivery teams.
- **Operational effectiveness.** Actively look for opportunities to implement improvements to project delivery including:

- Improve timing, sequencing, dependencies, and resource management
- Simplify project governance and reduce burden on management/attendees
- Provide governance to support prioritisation within the Data portfolio
- **Stakeholder management.** Build trusted and constructive relationships with key stakeholders across APRA to understand requirements, identify issues early and deliver high value outcomes
- **Capability.** Strengthen Tech Lead / Service Delivery capabilities within IT/DAI to support projects
- **Risk. **Lead the team to take balanced and considered risks and promote good risk management practices. Elevate risk-management from a project to a program level
- **Financial management & Resourcing.** Manage the operations of the team within agreed budgetary constraints and devise resourcing strategies to address evolving needs. Ensure appropriate workforce management to create alignment across the enterprise and minimise duplication
- **External.** Develop close networks and represent APRA at forums in a manner that enhances APRA’s reputation.

**About you**
- Experience in managing a complex and wide-ranging portfolio of programs and projects particularly in the data and information technology spaces
- Strong leadership and management capabilities, including the ability to organise and motivate others and drive to deadlines
- Fosters an inclusive environment that creates a sense of belonging and trust, and allows people to actively contribute, and to reach their full potential
- Adept at leading in the face of uncertainty and facilitates understanding of complex circumstances to gain support and agreement
- Experience in the financial services sector in a senior leadership capacity, with a sound understanding of the principles of prudential regulation and financial sector risks
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation, analytical and communication skills
- Relationship building, negotiation and influencing capability at senior levels
- Demonstrated ability to identify strategic issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions
- Strong personal integrity and an intuitive understanding of what is reasonable and prudent business practice
- Ability to establish and maintain sound working relationships with peers, team members and stakeholders in a professional team environment
- Professional qualifications in relevant field or equivalent experience.
