**Overview of the role**

The Innovation Team is responsible for exploring opportunities and fostering innovation at Suncorp group level for immediate innovation needs as well as long term innovation establishment. This team works closely with the strategy team to influence group wide strategic direction for future products and services.

The Innovation Specialist will report directly to the Head of Innovation and will play a key role in supporting the delivery of major innovation programs, events (such as hackathons), workshops and experiments. The Innovation Specialist will be hands-on in delivering initiatives, will be organised, efficient and reliable. The role is likely to work across different projects for the Innovation Team providing support where needed.

You may come from a marketing/event background or a creative field such as graphic design or have worked within human centred design/product design but will ideally have had some exposure to what innovation is within an organisation. More importantly however is your exceptional facilitation and presentation skills, natural curiosity, and eagerness to explore the unknown and demonstrate a growth mindset.

This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about what they do, and who has the ability to inspire others as we assess the desirability and feasibility of innovations for our customers, now and in the future.

**What you’ll do**:

- Play a key role in delivering innovation events, workshops, programs and experiments. This may include managing logistics, organising and facilitating workshops, developing customer personas or assisting with the ideas pitch - depending on where your skill set lies and the type of event.
- Ensure organised, efficient and reliable delivery of programs as directed by the Head of Innovation.
- Engage with business and other stakeholders to ensure the success of the innovation initiatives
- Work collaboratively with the Innovation team to ideate, discover and deliver innovation projects.
- Role model the behaviours that enable innovation: embracing failure, collaborating with others, customer obsession, creativity, and experimentation

**What you’ll bring**:

- Previous exposure to or understanding of, innovation within an organisation
- 2+ years’ experience with either marketing, creative design, event management, innovation or customer experience.
- A track record of delivering events, programs, projects or experiments; exceptional facilitation and presentation skills and attention to detail
- Natural curiosity, and eagerness to explore the unknown and demonstrate a growth mindset
- A highly collaborative team attitude with superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable presenting to an audience.
