**About the Opportunity**:
Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Manager, Digital, Information & Customer to plan, lead and manage the Digital, Information and Customer teams of Council, ensuring ongoing development of these staff members. With the successful applicant possessing the ability to drive the technology vision and leadership for development and implementation of information technology with Council. The role involves the need to ensure the organisation’s Technology Information Systems are functioning effectively and efficiently through the dedicated team and the use of the latest information technology tools and monitoring processes. Additionally, the successful applicant will be required the possess the ability to drive excellence in customer experience across Council and through the services provided to the community.

This role provides the opportunity to undertake the following:

- Manage the control of the IT function including but not limited to; system security, integration, infrastructure, network, risk management and the completion of regular backups and offsite storage.
- Managing in a constantly changing and political environment. Achieving strategic outcomes within an environment of contracting resources and competing priorities. Ensuring service delivery within strict deadlines.
- Supporting rapid city growth and diversity.
- Communicating with people at all levels of the organisation and local community including politicians. Development and implementation of a long-term Information Technology Strategy.
- Adopting a holistic approach to Information Technology Services to ensure value adding services are provided across Council Provide support to the Management team by not only providing innovative technology-based solution to emerging issues but a reliable operating system that meets their needs and those of our customers.
- Responsible for the planning, acquisition and installation of equipment and coordinate the purchasing of all computer hardware and software, ensuring all purchases are aligned to Council’s IT strategy.
- Continually monitor and improve all systems, procedures, processes and controls in order to remedy all problems and issues with Council’s IT systems.
- Lead and deliver on the strategic direction of the IT function of Council.
- Manage the IT staff and provide direction, support and regular performance reviews and identify and promote professional and career development opportunities for team members.
- Maintain industry knowledge and make recommendations to management regarding the introduction or replacement of software and hardware. Responsible for the overall plan, procedures and roll out to be followed in the case of emergencies or major breakdown of equipment and have input into a Disaster Recovery Plan.

**About You**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or similar and/or have proven experience in similar role within Local Government. Proven experience at a senior level in multisite infrastructure and thorough understanding of the associated security issues.
- Management experience in providing leadership and strategic direction to a multi-disciplinary team to enable the delivery of the strategic objectives as set by the Executive Team.
- Extensive experience in project management, in particular, the implementation of hardware and software.
- Experience with PABX systems, telephony and associated systems.
- High level interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and negotiation.
- An expert knowledge of Windows Server environments and operating systems, MS Exchange, MS SQL, IBM websphere, CRM and eBusiness systems, VOIP/PABX systems.
