Are you a strategic media and communications leader with a passion for building trust, driving engagement, and enhancing reputations? This high-profile Government Agency is seeking a dynamic and visionary **Director of Media and Communications** to join our team on a fixed-term basis. This is a unique opportunity to lead and transform the way we communicate, both internally and externally, during a pivotal time for the organisation.

**About the Role**:
As the Director of Media and Communications, you will play a critical role in shaping the Agency's narrative, ensuring our messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with our strategic vision. You will lead a high-performing team, drive innovative communication strategies, and manage our reputation across diverse platforms. From crisis communications to brand visibility, your work will directly impact how we engage with our employees, stakeholders, and the broader community.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the Agency's vision and business outcomes.
- Provide expert advice to senior leadership, including the Executive Leadership Team, on internal and external communication priorities.
- Oversee crisis communications and reputation management, ensuring timely and effective responses to critical issues.
- Strengthen the Agency's brand visibility through strategic media relations, impactful campaigns, and consistent messaging.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, influencers, and key stakeholders.
- Lead the creation of compelling corporate narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all communication activities comply with legislative requirements, policies, and industry best practices.

- A strategic thinker with a proven track record in media and communications, ideally within government, public sector, or a similarly complex environment.
- Exceptional reputation management skills, with experience navigating high-stakes situations and mitigating risks.
- Strong relationships with media outlets and a deep understanding of the media landscape.
- Outstanding leadership abilities, with a focus on building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, targeted messages for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in crisis communications and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
