As the Business Tranee you must be willing to undertake a Certificate III in Business along with some extra training in the Insurance sector. You will provide day to day administrative support through Reception and to the wider Insurance Broking team.

**Major Activities**

Education/Compliance:

- Undertake Traineeship and other training activities as outlined in training plan
- Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with relevant statutory and industry requirements and codes
- Maintain current knowledge of and adhere to company policies and principles as detailed
- Adhere to internal privacy guidelines and maintain confidentiality
- Acquire a sound knowledge of clients’ industries, businesses and risks
- Acquire knowledge of the Insurance industry and market

Teamwork:

- Work effectively with team/work group or those outside the formal line of authority (e.g. peers, senior managers) to accomplish organisational goals
- Keep management and others informed appropriately and as required about work status
- Take actions that respect the needs and contributions of others

Business Servicing:

- Reception / telephone duties as required
- Monitor receipt of documentation and general mail duties
- General office administration - filing/ data entry/ typing correspondence/ printing/binding
- Maintenance of and ordering office supplies
- Assisting Account Executives and Managers as and when required for general queries
- Visitor assistance - organise refreshments etc

Customer Service:

- Answer incoming calls as required. Handle queries to limits of role or delegate to the most appropriate staff member
- Give a friendly, helpful and welcoming impression to Clients and prospective Clients both in person and over the phone

**Required Qualifications/Experience**

Required:
Knowledge in the Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to commit to the full length of the traineeship.
Good Verbal and written communication skills both face to face and via telephone.

Highly desirable:
Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of office practices and procedures.
Previous experience in administration role.
