Lynas Rare Earths is an established ethical and environmentally responsible producer of rare earth materials, we are the world’s only significant producer of separated rare earth materials outside of China. Our rare earths deposit is one of the highest-grade Rare-Earth deposits in the world, boasting a mine life of 20+ years. The Rare Earths are mined and put through our initial processing at our Mt Weld site. Mt Weld will supply Rare Earth concentrate to the Kalgoorlie plant, where the Kalgoorlie plant will complete the cracking and leaching stage of processing.

**The Role**:
We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a qualified and experienced Desktop Support Technician to join based in Perth and provide IT services support to users in WA, primarily in Mt-Weld, Kalgoorlie & Perth offices. This role is responsible for troubleshooting and resolving software and hardware issues, including PCs and peripherals in a networked environment, installing new devices, and documenting local configuration changes.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide onsite IT support service for staff in WA for Mt-Weld, Perth & Kalgoorlie.
- Manage IT inventory, assets as well as e-waste for WA.
- Be part of the standby roster to provide 24x7 on-call IT support
- Manage and monitor end-point performance and requirements.
- Plan and manage end-point patching or Operating system upgrades, when necessary, with third-party suppliers.
- Delivers installation and building endpoint based on business requirements.
- Resolution of hardware issues for printers, MITEL phone systems, and other IT Network devices.
- Logging and monitoring calls with third-party vendors for any Network related or Application issues.
- Ensure Laptop/Desktop hardware is sufficiently available for Perth
- Liaise with the Malaysia IT Team to ensure standardization across the network.
- Maintain and troubleshoot network devices and systems (network switch).
- Document PC configurations and changes.
- Ensure all calls are allocated and closed promptly.
- Escalate calls to Level 2 Support when required.
- Follow Lynas’s change control process for all system changes.
- Maintain Lynas’ Occupational Health & Safety Policy, Environment Policy, and Quality Policy requirements.

**Requirements to the role**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in IT and relevant CompTIA A+ Certification, MCSE, MCSA will be an advantage with 5 years of desktop and Server support experience in an industrial environment.
- Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting IT hardware in a network environment
- Have a positive working attitude with good interpersonal and communication skills (both written & verbal), able to confidently interact with people of all cultures at all levels.
- Travel to the remote site to Mt-Weld Site or Kalgoorlie fortnightly or when required.
