The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is Australia’s only public hospital solely dedicated to cancer and one of an elite group of hospitals worldwide to have its own integrated cancer research program and laboratories. At Peter Mac, they aim to continuously improve cancer care, research and education across all cancers and for all people affected by cancer: changing lives, breaking new ground. The Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation is the fundraising arm of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Fundraising plays a crucial role in advancing cancer research at Peter Mac with funds raised accelerating the search for cancer cures.
Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy, the Philanthropy Manager will maximise the Foundation’s philanthropic revenue through major gifts. This role will be responsible for developing and executing tactics to research, as well as cultivating and stewarding an expansive portfolio of major gift donors. Your wealth of experience within prospecting and relationship management will effectively maximise the giving of both existing and prospective donors, whilst maintaining strong prospect pipelines and new business opportunities.
Working collaboratively with other Foundation fundraising teams, you will optimise donor service delivery and overall fundraising revenue. This position offers the exciting opportunity to work closely with the Foundation Board’s Philanthropy Committee and other key stakeholders within the cancer research and treatment space as you provide strategic, tactical and administrative support and guidance.
About YOU
- Proven experience within relationship fundraising, and a successful track record within major gifts
- Ability to develop concise fundraising strategies and continually manage and enhance donor pipelines
- Practical understanding of moves management, donor motivations, and knowledge of the philanthropic landscape
- Sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophy of charitable giving
- Outstanding communication and persuasive skills, with the ability to be a compelling storyteller and do ‘the ask’
- Ability to generate significant revenue through cultivating new donor relationships
- Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with senior business leaders, high net worth individuals, and key internal stakeholders
- Excellent knowledge of fundraising databases/CRM software is highly regarded, along with the ability to analyse and report on program status and results
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, CFRE, membership of the Fundraising Institute of Australia, and an interest in cancer research and treatment are highly regarded
