Reporting to a Head of General Insurance Claims Controlling - & sitting in our Customer & Operations division - the National Manager Internal Controls will be responsible for guiding and supporting Short Tail Claims to meet its internal and external risk and compliance requirements, and supporting the implementation of regulatory change, designing and implementing robust controls, and monitoring and improving risk maturity and risk culture.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop an expert understanding of the Allianz Risk Management framework, including relevant Group Policies/Standards, as well as the external regulatory environment to support the Customer and Operations Senior Management team to improve risk maturity and create a risk aware culture.
- Support and guide Customer and Operations to maintain compliance with Allianz Risk Management framework and standards, including the currency of risk profiles and operational compliance plans, in addition to supporting incident reporting and ongoing management.
- Advise on the establishment of processes and reporting to enable early identification of incidents, breaches and operational losses.
- In collaboration with the Customer Services Risk and Compliance (Line One) team, develop and implement a Quality Assurance framework to enhance its effectiveness as a key control within Customer and Operations.
- Establish and lead a virtual community of Customer and Operations representatives to build risk and compliance capability and collaboration across Customer and Operations teams and Customer Services
- Design, develop, operationalise and continuously improve the Customer and Operations control environment in conjunction with the Customer Services Risk and Compliance (Line One) team - this includes designing a control testing program in accordance with AAL Risk Management framework, regularly testing key controls, reporting on the outcomes of these tests, recommending control improvements and monitoring improvement progress
**To be successful in the role**:
- You’ll have a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline - ideally a law qualification.
- Significant experience in a compliance, risk or legal focussed role acquired within a complex, matrixed general insurance, banking or financial services organisation. (or consultancy specialising in aforementioned)
- Demonstrated experience of compliance and regulatory frameworks, where analysing complex data and producing outputs based on drawing conclusions from that data and linking to direct regulatory matrix and provide recommendations and solutions to the business
- Demonstrated evidence of partnering effectively with and influencing stakeholders and other business leaders and establish strong professional relationships across the enterprise.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns, trends and links that inform judgements and solutions
