About the Role
You will drive learning innovation, agency, and a deep sense of belonging for all students. As the Head of Special Education Services - Balmoral State High School - Special Education Program, you will lead the implementation of inclusive practices that enable students with disability to access, engage, and participate fully in the school community. The role includes ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policy, while building strong connections with families and the wider community. Your leadership will support a culture of inclusion and improved outcomes for all students.

Your Responsibilities
As the Head of Special Education Services, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Drive the school's vision and values to foster an evolving, high-quality professional learning community, supporting students as globally-minded, future-focused citizens.
Lead a collaborative and progressive Inclusion Department, partnering with students, parents and a range of industry bodies to revolutionise pathways for students with identified learning needs.
Elevate and scale high-quality teaching and learning practices, aligning instruction with responsive, responsive pedagogies and authentic assessment.
Manage and coordinate the delivery of high-quality advice and support provided by the Special Education Program, Learning Support Program.
Lead and manage the Special Education Program to provide advice to classroom teachers for students with disability as needed. Manage a diverse team of teaching and technical staff, optimising human resources across the school to advance our commitment to inclusive practices.
Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
Coordinate and provide intensive targeted teaching for students requiring intervention.
