Your Opportunity

We have a new role for a Technology Program Lead in our newly shaped Customer and Innovation group.

The Customer and Innovation Group leads and champions the way Urban Utilities connects with its customers. Our approach is focused on remaining contemporary, by understanding the current and future needs of our customers and appropriately shaping our services.

Reporting to the Technology Manager, this role will manage the delivery of a portfolio or program of research and innovation activities to a defined standard of outcomes. The portfolio will be aligned and focussed on the delivery of solutions to critical business needs and objectives.

The role champions the efficient delivery and development of a program focused on driving business value returns both internally and via business ventures. It will engage and collaborate with critical stakeholders within the business to ensure this alignment, as well as external parties who will support a focused program of investment.

Some of your accountabilities will include:
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement through identifying stakeholders, finding out their needs/ issues /concern and reacting to these by arranging meetings and events and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and commitment.- Develop complex innovations of critical products or services, running pilots and testing through fast-paced launches, ensuring project schedules are met, identifying risks, and communicating to project stakeholders.- Develop a personal program of funded research to acquire funding for gap support and research, and assure adequacy of budgets, including grant budgets. Stay informed of research in another field where synergies are possible.- Collaborate with the Innovation team to set and monitor projects against technical and economic success parameters.- Monitors the external environment to gather intelligence on emerging technologies. Assesses and documents the impacts, threats and opportunities to the organisation.- Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management program.

About You- You lead others with courage, humility, empathy and authenticity, with proven ability to grow and evolve team. You'll foster an inclusive and high-performing culture to safely deliver exceptional results.- You have a growth mindset and are highly collaborative. You can build strategic and purposeful relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as priority customer groups.- Tertiary education in Engineering, Science, Innovation, or a related field.- Demonstrated experience working with academic institutions to solve industry challenges at scale i.e. collaborative research centres or similar, either as an academic or industry representative.- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience, business partnering and development skills.- Demonstrated experience in the engagement of industry partners and internal stakeholders.
