**The Role**
The Department of Education is seeking a motivated and experienced EL1 officer to lead the delivery of the Worker Retention Payment (WRP), a key initiative supporting wage increases for the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) workforce.

As the WRP Team Lead, you will report to the Director and manage a small, high-performing team in a dynamic policy and operational data environment. You will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the WRP calculator, ensuring it reflects current policy settings and supports accurate and timely payments.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
In this role, your responsibilities will include the following:

- Overseeing the maintenance and enhancement of the WRP calculator, ensuring accuracy and responsiveness to policy changes.
- Analysing monthly and annual financial data to identify trends, risks, and variances to budget, providing insights to inform program direction.
- Preparing and reviewing payment calculations for the WRP, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Developing and maintaining self-service reporting tools and bespoke data products to support program and policy decision-making.
- Producing high-quality briefs, reports and minutes for senior executives and stakeholders.
- Ensuring adherence to relevant program policies, legislation, Accountable Authority Instructions, delegations, and departmental policies.
- Fostering a collaborative, inclusive team culture focused on capability development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Building and sustaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, as well as representing the department in external forums and working groups.

**Qualifications and Education**
Demonstrated ability in SAS and/or R data analysis software (mandatory).
