**Assistant Manager Roles & Responsibilities**

An assistant manager in a café is responsible for helping the café manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the café and ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently. Their specific duties may include:

- Assisting the café manager in managing staff, including scheduling, training and performance evaluations
- Managing the café’s finances, including monitoring sales, expenses and budgeting
- Overseeing the café’s inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Ensuring that the café is adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations
- Helping to develop and implement café policies and procedures & ensuring that all café employees are adhering to established policies and procedures
- Supervising the preparation and presentation of food and beverages to ensure they meet established standards and guidelines. Supervising the café's daily operations, including cash handling, customer service, food preparation, and cleaning.
- Assisting in customer service and addressing customer complaints or concerns
- Helping to plan and coordinate café events, promotions and marketing initiatives
- Helping to maintain the café’s website and social media accounts
- Assisting in the management of any café equipment and facilities, ensuring that they are in good working order
- Helping to ensure that the café meets its financial goals
- Providing support to the café manager and stepping in as needed in their absence.
- Assisting in creating and maintaining a positive and productive work environment for café staff
- Assisting in recruiting, hiring, and training new staff members. Developing Standard practices for training new employees.
- Assisting in creating and implementing standard operating procedures for the café
- Assisting in creating and implementing plans to improve café sales and customer satisfaction.To be successful in this role, an assistant manager should have excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are also important, as is a deep understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations, as well as a knowledge of food preparation and presentation.

Additionally, a strong understanding of customer service and an ability to work well under pressure are essential.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 30 per week

**Salary**: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
