What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Officer in Charge - Surveillance Integration Delivery Team.

Officer in Charge (OIC) Surveillance Integration Delivery, Digital Surveillance Collection provides technical direction, management and coordination to the receipt, ingestion, normalization, processing, analysis and presentation of lawfully obtained intercept, open source, digital and technical surveillance product. They are also responsible for ensuring all collected data is handled in accordance with evidential, statutory and internal policy requirements.

**This role may include**:
Managing multiple technical teams to deliver and maintain integrated computer systems capable of processing live data streams from a range of covert and discreet electronic sources and telecommunications providers;
Ensuring outputs are achieved within the strategic direction of the AFP;
Engaging with external and internal stakeholders to identify and develop solutions to capability gaps and issues;
Developing team leaders, technical specialists and/or team members and fulfilling a guiding, mentoring and technical advisory and planning role;
Leading research and innovation projects in collaboration with internal and external professionals;
Developing internal policy and process to ensure the collection, processing, storage, analysis and presentation of data meets evidential, statutory and security compliance requirements;
Representing the AFP domestically and internationally in relation to industry and partner agency engagement;
Maintaining contemporary knowledge of managing diverse overt and covert computer networks;
Maintaining contemporary knowledge of offensive and defensive cyber security practices; and
Managing contractual and other complex commercial arrangements including procurement and asset lifecycles.

What will you do?

The OIC Surveillance Integration Delivery provides technical leadership and management of the AFP’s interception, digital and technical surveillance ingestion and processing networks and platforms whilst ensuring all activities meet statutory compliance, security and evidential requirements.

These platforms include a combination of commercial and internally developed systems, with the intent of providing an integrated and user friendly experience for internal and external clients. These systems provide mission critical 24/7support to the AFP’s operational outcomes. This role also has accountability for a small data science tasked with providing data enrichment services within increasingly diverse and complex data sets.

Whilst operating in a technical leadership and management role the OIC must also have sound technical problem solving skills to, develop, coordinate and project manage technical solutions, and computer network support. This should follow accepted DevOps practices.

Essential Requirements

Must be an Australian Citizen
NV 2 Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Formal tertiary qualifications in an information technology related field or extensive demonstrated technical equivalent skills and experience.
Experience in mentoring, developing and leading technical specialists in maintaining computer networks and systems.
Strong technical leadership, teamwork and people management
