**The Division**

The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) division is focused on understanding the particular needs of regional communities across NSW and delivering customer-centred integrated transport services and infrastructure.

**About the team**

The Community and Place branch sits within the Regional and Outer Metropolitan division. Our goal is to lead engagement with NSW regional communities and stakeholders to champion their needs and improve community transport outcomes. We engage with customers, communities and stakeholders to ensure their needs are considered in the development and delivery of Transport’s plans, strategies, services and programs across the region. Our purpose is to make NSW a better place to live, work and visit.

**The opportunity**

Right now, we have an exciting Permanent Full Time opportunity for a Community Engagement Officer to support the Communication and Stakholder Engagement Manager and wider team with communications and engagement activities across infrastructure projects being delivered by Transport for NSW, and other statewide transport projects as needed. Being part of the Strategic and Statewide Engagement team, you will work with a supportive and professional team on a challenging range of tasks.

Working alongside a passionate and committed team, this role is responsible for:

- Working cooperatively within a team, exchanging information and assisting other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes.
- Providing support to specific project work streams within the communications division and providing advice on community and stakeholder relations.
- Liaising with other functional areas and external agencies as required.
- Monitoring and responding to project issues as they arise, including public enquiry and complaints and any requests from senior managers within the communications branch or project teams.
- Write and coordinate communiations materials, and release of public information, including newsletters, construction updates, social media, corporate brochures, presentation materials, media releases and articles, website, community and stakeholder correspondence and relevant briefing materials.

**About you**

We are looking for a proactive Community Engagement Officer who can build strong positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensure the customer and community focus are integrated into the delivery of the programs/projects.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have
- Working experience in using the Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge or the ability to acquire excellent knowledge of modern communications landscapes including existing and emerging technology, social media, and related analytics.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in developing digital content.
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating projects and prioritising competing demands and deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse data and research to develop community engagement strategies and plans.
- IAP2 qualification - desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications or substantial experience in Community Engagement or a related discipline, ideally in the Public Sector/Service.
- Excellent research and report writing skills, and are good at synthesising and presenting complex information.

**Salary and Benefits**

The salary for this position is Grade 6A ($97,279) - 6E ($107,007) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
