Canning Vale, Australia Metcash Full time

As the Area Sales Manager for our Food Team, you will interact with a diverse group of independent IGA retailers across the WA State with some regional / remote travel required. You will help drive store standards, sell initiatives to improve their business, develop strategies and enhance and support customer service and safety standards.

**What you'll do**:
Build and develop strong working relationships with your retailers and become the conduit between the retailer and Metcash

Be able to influence retailers to support them in creating profitable and sustainable businesses

Drive operational excellence and ensure store standards as well as pricing and promotional compliance is met

Liaise with the Metcash buyers, inventory team and logistics to resolve stock issues

Ensure ‘Network of the Future’ criteria as well as product, pricing, ranging, and service levels are met

Drive and review sales plans and support promotional activities or events with your retailer

Represent retailers and provide ongoing feedback as to their requests and needs back to the WA and National teams

**What you’ll bring**:
Grocery retail management knowledge and sales experience in the retail supermarket sector at store manager or muti-site level

Strong understanding of the fresh business in terms of food safety and compliance, product knowledge etc.

Expertise in drawing consumer and store insights from data to inform and conduct business management, strategic planning, and problem-solving in the retailer supermarket sector

Influencing skills and ability to rapidly establish trust and build relations with retailers

Demonstrate effective promotional and sales skills with the ability to convince, persuade and close deals

A team player who can fit into a diverse team of proactive problem solvers who love a challenge in a fast-moving industry that values hard work and innovative thinking
