**Position Information**:
Paxton Public School is located on large grounds in a semi-rural setting, approximately 10km from Cessnock in the Hunter Valley and operates with strong support from the Cessnock Community of Great Public Schools. Paxton Public School has a current enrolment of 87 students with four classes and a FOEI of 19. 3% of our students are English as an Additional Language or Dialect. 23% of our students identify as Aboriginal and we have strong connections with the Korreil Wonnai AECG. Our two Strategic Directions of Student growth and attainment and Student engagement and wellbeing underpin our school vision; 'Paxton Public School aim for excellence by providing a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes high expectations and strong connections to community and culture'.
Paxton Public School staff is made up of experienced teachers and support staff who promote a culture of high expectations, positive student wellbeing and engagement. Teachers work collaboratively to foster a quality learning environment that reflects our PBL school values of Safety, Teamwork, Achievement and Respect.
Our teaching and leadership staff use data to inform practice, making decisions that enhance teaching and learning for all. Differentiation occurs at all levels of schooling to ensure students are taught at their point of need. **Selection Criteria**:
Approval to teach infants and primary K - 6 with demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, differentiated literacy and numeracy programs to improve student outcomes using evidence-based and data informed practices, with the capacity to implement the new curriculum
Demonstrated ability to implement positive, inclusive and effective classroom management processes while fostering positive relationships to support a diverse range of students with an understanding of the student behaviour strategy
Highly developed interpersonal skills with capacity to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff, parents and the wider community with an understanding of a small school dynamic
Demonstrated capacity to coordinate, organise and implement whole school programs including sport, public speaking and debating and choir.
