Principal Technical Specialist

**The role: As a Principal Technical Specialist, you will**:
- Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for the administration of Palo Alto services and equipment.
- Design and architect complex network and security solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Lead and oversee the implementation phase of projects, ensuring timely and successful completion.
- Utilise advanced troubleshooting skills to address and resolve complex networking and connectivity issues.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive firewall and security policies.
- Design and implement redundancy and failover mechanisms to ensure high availability and business continuity.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Lead and manage, coach, and mentor a highly skilled technical team.
- Ensure all systems and processes comply with relevant regulations and standards, including ITIL and other best practices.
- Analyse and optimize existing configurations and policies for improved performance and security.
- Oversee the creation and review of technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and clarity in change processes.
- Manage and integrate both Windows and Linux operating systems within the network infrastructure.
- Implement and manage advanced role-based access control policies to enhance security.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve network security and efficiency.
- Liaise with vendors to ensure the best solutions and support for Palo Alto services and equipment.
