As a Principal Technical Specialist, you'll be at the forefront of cloud innovation, helping to shape the future of our cloud infrastructure. This role requires an individual who is not only technically proficient but also a natural leader.
You will develop and manage TMR AWS and Azure Cloud Platform landing zones, ensuring self-service capabilities and adherence to the latest cloud vendor best practices.
Your technical acumen will be pivotal in providing expert consultancy, advice, and leadership to operational and project teams. You'll influence key decision-makers on public Cloud services and solutions, pushing the envelope in terms of what's possible with cloud technology.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Cloud Platform Management: Develop and manage TMR AWS and Azure Cloud Platform landing zones, ensuring self-service capabilities and adherence to the latest cloud vendor best practices. Technical Leadership: Provide expert consultancy, advice, and leadership to operational and project teams, influencing key decision-makers on public Cloud services and solutions. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and design cloud-based solutions using architectural best practices and DevOps methodologies. Cloud Operations: Oversee day-to-day Cloud operations, ensuring strong security compliance, availability, and effective incident management. Team Education: Educate and support operational teams in implementing cloud operations based on best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
**Requirements of the Role**:
- Cloud Expertise: Experience deploying and supporting complex solutions on AWS and/or Azure Cloud platforms. You'll need to have a deep understanding of both AWS and Azure, with the ability to design and implement cloud solutions that are scalable, secure, and cost-effective.
- Consultancy Skills: Proven experience providing technical consultancy and working with stakeholders to develop and deploy cloud-based solutions. You'll need to be able to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that they understand the benefits and implications of the solutions you design.
- Automation Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in automating infrastructure and software delivery pipelines using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, and Puppet, with a solid grasp of DevOps methodologies. You'll need to have a deep understanding of automation and DevOps, with the ability to design and implement automated solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our cloud operations.
- Compliance Familiarity: Knowledge of industry compliance and security standards, including ISO27001, Federal Information Security Manual (ISM), and PCI-DSS. You'll need to have a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices, with the ability to ensure that our cloud infrastructure remains compliant with these standards.
