**The Role**
The EL 1 ICT Security Specialist in the Incubator Branch leads the development, implementation and maintenance of Cyber Security standards across the Incubator Branch and the cloud platforms and technology the Branch delivers within the Defence Digital Group (DDG). The role provides security advice on cloud platforms and technology focused on the establishment and management of a ‘Zero-Trust’ architecture across a multi-cloud environment. The role works directly to the Director of Platform Enablement within a small team focused on enabling the evaluation of modern technology for use in Defence.
**About our Team**
The recently established Incubator Branch within the Architecture and Strategy Division (DAS) of Defence Digital Group (DDG) is responsible for evaluating best in class, sovereign technology and its fit for purpose across Defence Capabilities. Incubation activities are completed in a multi-cloud hosting capability that ensures technology is evaluated against security postures and use cases unique to the Department of Defence. The team operates within an agile delivery methodology that is collaborative, flexible and transparent to stakeholders across the department. Evaluations completed by the branch are used to inform technology choices made by the department in the delivery of its objectives.
They will have the ability to:
- Lead a small team and be accountable for the outcomes and the appropriate use of resources to produce and achieve them;
- Develop and manage security principles and practices related to cloud platforms as well as key security documentation related to the accreditation of platforms;
- Communicate in a clear, concise and articulate manner providing strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders;
- Take the initiative to identify security issues and recommend courses of action; and
- Review and revise briefing material and reports on relevant security and platform matters.
