**About the opportunity**
The Interior Design Consultant reports to the Studio Manager and is part of the MyChoice Design team. All being part of the NEX group we service Tasmania’s largest builder Wilson Homes. In this highly rewarding role, your focus will be to provide our clients with a comprehensive understanding of the interior, external and electrical products available within our product range. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

- Working closely with clients from initial walk through, selections and beyond
- Providing a customised approach for selecting interior and external details, materials, colour selections, flooring selections, lighting/electrical, space planning, and detailing
- Interpreting client needs and completing detailed design concepts and contract documents
- Writing specifications covering interior design matters, and performing building code reviews
- Provide on the spot pricing and estimating
- Working collaboratively and coordinating work with other disciplines
- Effectively utilising available technology to accurately record all revisions and reselections
- Ensuring customer satisfaction by providing guidance and quality support

**About you**
To be successful in this highly rewarding role you will demonstrate alignment to the purpose and core values along with:

- Diploma in Interior Design or other relevant tertiary qualification
- Commitment to providing excellence in customer service
- Demonstrated design aesthetic and strong conceptual skills
- Experience in interior design or colour consulting ideally within the residential building industry
- An ability to read and understand floor plans and housing contracts
- Demonstrated attention to detail and strong record keeping, planning and organising
- Up to date knowledge of relevant legislation, Building Codes and industry trends
