Are you ready to make a difference? Approach Consulting is partnered with a well-respected local business for a Team Leader Utilises. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient maintenance of the water supply and sewerage network across the Canberra region.

As the Team Leader Utilises, you will lead and engage a high-performing team of over 68 team members, including field-based Supervisors and Water Industry Operators, in the delivery of a comprehensive maintenance program on a 24x7 basis. With an annual operating budget of circa $17 million, you will be accountable for all aspects of the Utilises Networks delivery program, including safety, budget, resourcing, performance, and compliance to achieve business objectives and targets.

Safety is a top priority, and as a visible safety leader, you will foster a safety-first culture within the Utilises Network Maintenance Delivery Team, ensuring all legislative obligations and procedures are met. You will also set behavioural standards for the team, monitor performance against defined standards, and take prompt action to address performance issues.

In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will also work closely with other teams such as the Utilises Network Maintenance Central Planning Office, Developer Services Team, and other cross-functional business groups, to ensure works are successfully screened, prioritized, planned, executed, monitored, and controlled. Leveraging and fully integrating works/asset management technologies, you will enhance office-to-field capability and proactively seek and implement improvements to business processes and workforce capability.

As a customer-focused leader, you will foster a culture within the Utilises Network Maintenance Delivery Team that ensures high levels of customer satisfaction across all activities delivered. You will also build strong relationships across the Networks Branch and other teams, proactively engaging, collaborating, and managing relationships to achieve win-win outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a proactive leader who can effectively manage competing business priorities and navigate organizational change in a positive manner. You will also need to have a strong understanding of legislative and regulatory obligations related to water and sewerage services, as well as experience in risk assessment, incident reporting, and continuous improvement.
