What is the role?
The multi-agency Criminal Assets Confiscation Taskforce (CACT) provides a coordinated and integrated approach to identifying and removing the profits derived from serious and organised criminal activity. Led by the AFP and utilising the resources from the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC), the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), AUSTRAC, and the Australian Border Force (ABF), the objective of CACT is to disrupt, deter and reduce serious and organised crime by taking the profit out of crime. The CACT has two components, Criminal Assets Investigations (CAI) and Criminal Assets Litigation (CAL).
As a Team Leader in the Criminal Assets Confiscation (CAC) Command Coordination and Strategy Team, you will play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP’s values, leadership philosophy, organisational reform agenda, corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
Your role will report directly to the National Superintendent Criminal Assets Confiscation and will be responsible for managing a small team to deliver the objectives of CAC Command. The Coordination and Strategy Team is responsible for CAC Command reporting, policy, strategy, Ministerial and Legislative engagement, as well as the provision of advice and briefings in support of CACT-focussed meetings and events.
As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below. You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
What will you do?
As Team Leader Coordination and Strategy, your key responsibilities are:
Guiding and managing resources responsible for assisting CAC Command through the provision of a variety of reporting, corporate and operational support functions.
Developing plans and ensuring all resources are effectively utilised to achieve Command and team objectives.
Developing team members and providing a guiding, mentoring and advisory role including knowledge/skills transfer to other team members.
Creating and contributing to a positive team culture.
Providing verbal and written advice (including Executive Briefs) to stakeholders.
Preparing and providing advice in Ministerial and Legislative issues, including Senate Estimates Briefs and legislative amendments affecting the CACT.
Undertaking research and project work as required.
