**Position Information**:
Arcadia Vale Public School (FOEI of 118) is a small school situated on the western shores of Lake Macquarie. The school has a current enrolment of 170 students, including 25 students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. In addition to its mainstream classes, Arcadia Vale Public School also has three Multi-Categorical classes.
The school is a proud member of the Toronto Learning Community comprising eight public primary schools and a partner high school. The school enjoys strong community partnerships and works closely with parents and careers within the core business of teaching and learning.
Arcadia Vale Public School strongly supports the development of Literacy and Numeracy knowledge, skills and understanding for all students, and employs effective differentiation at all levels. In addition, Arcadia Vale Public School provides a broad range of opportunities for students to explore and develop through activities such as performing arts including a school band, dance group and choir, and cultural, leadership, sporting, environmental and academic pursuits.

- Highly visible, approachable and collaborative leader with outstanding communication and organisational skills, who inspires and empowers staff, working closely with local principals and schools.
- Demonstrated success in the development, implementation and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP), with proven capacity to lead the school through the current planning cycle.
- Proven capacity to support wellbeing, environmental, creative and cultural opportunities that cater for the diverse student population.
- Capacity to work closely with the wider school community, including the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community to enhance the school’s reputation for excellence, engagement and inclusivity.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
