**Description**:
The Load and Haul Superintendent will demonstrate effective leadership and support the overall performance of the mining department through strategic planning, safety leadership and production improvement.
Reporting to the Manager Load and Haul, the successful applicant will be required to:
Enable and support a safety focused culture.
Manage the delivery of short
- and medium-term plans.
Assist with management of our inhouse open pit mining services team to achieve production targets, evaluate their performance, track trends to ensure actions are taken to correct variances and deliver results in a cost-effective manner.
Direct the open pit operations’ mining team and related contractors to execute works in line with contractual obligations to reach our agreed business plans.
Monitor and optimize mining equipment utilization in collaboration with Mining Supervisors, ensuring its compliance to daily and weekly plans/targets.
Identify, analyze as well as coach Mining Supervisors to deliver solutions to any deviations from the daily and weekly plans.
Manage the performance of direct reports through the setting of KPIs, training and development, succession plans and appropriate performance management.
Assist the Load and Haul Manager in OPEX/Capex budget development.
Co-ordinate and monitor drill and blast operational procedures.
Plan, implement and ensure successful outcome of drill and blast operations.
**Requirements to be successful in this role are**:
WA Unrestricted Quarry Managers Certificate
Bachelor Mining Engineer or equivalent (desirable)
3 + years in a similar role within surface mining
Demonstrated leadership skills working within surface mining
Experience in Pronto, MS Office Suite
Experience in Fleet Management Systems
Minimum C class drivers’ license
Applicants must be able to pass a full pre-employment medical, provide a clean NPC (dated within the last 6 months (or able to obtain) and provide valid references.
