**The Opportunity**

Orion Care is currently seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker for our Hobart operation.

As a disability support worker, you will be responsible to act all times with the client at the forefront of all tasks and activities. The role is a critical interface between Orion staff including House Managers, Roaster Coordinator, Recruitment Managers, and Clinical Advisors.

**How you’ll make an impact as a disability support worker**:

- To provide care and care services, supervision and support to clients living within the community
- To provide care services that are person-centred, planned and agreed by the client
- To work with DSW team and other health professionals to maximize the individual’s physical and mental wellbeing
- To provide support to clients that is flexible and individualised and to facilitate client involvement in daily activities and living skills programs across all services

**What we are looking for**:
As a flexible and understanding individual with a supportive and caring nature, ideally experienced within the disability or health care sectors, you’ll have;
- Extensive experience working with, and providing for the day-to-day support and care for people with physical and other disabilities
- Cert III in Aged Care / Certificate III in Individual Support / Cert IV Disability or equivalent
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (MANDATORY)
- Current Police Check (MANDATORY)
- Current First Aid Certificate (MANDATORY)
- Current Vaccinations (MANDATORY)
- Experience with Manual handling
- Working with Children's Check (required)
- Own Reliable Car & Current Licence/Insurance cover (Preferable)
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Caring and Professional Nature
- Flexibility to work around the clock, including night shifts
