**The Role**
The Landing Craft Branch LAND 8710 Program is looking for motivated EL 1 Contract Managers to join the LAND 8710 Program to provide advice and support, leveraging your commercial acumen, to our project teams undertaking complex procurement and contracting activities.
Reporting to the Program Director, the EL 1 Contract Managers will exercise a considerable degree of independence. They are accountable under broad direction to provide strategic contractual and procurement advice and support to the integrated workforce. They will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
The EL 1 Contract Manager will be responsible for actively managing key stakeholder relationships and be able to meet relevant stakeholders’ expectations and concerns to develop and communicate best practice procurement and contract management to achieve outcomes.
The EL 1 Contract Manager roles have people management responsibilities and will be required to exercise your people management skills and knowledge to lead a small, high performing team.
**About our Team**
Landing Craft Branch is accountable for acquisitions under the LAND8710 Program, including LAND8710-1 Landing Craft - Medium (LC-M), LAND8710-1B Amphibious Vehicle - Logistics (AV-L) and LAND8710-2 Landing Craft - Heavy (LC-H).
The Program Management Office (PMO) embedded within the branch is responsible for oversite and support across the LAND8710 program. The PMO is made up of professionals from various disciplines and comprises highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, ADF and contracted personnel.
As EL 1 Contract Manager you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to a high performing team, and developing productive relationships with our project teams and industry;
- Driving commercial outcomes to comply with Commonwealth Government legislation and policy requirements, driving outcomes to uplift commercial acumen across the program, using strong commercial awareness, highly developed interpersonal skills, strong written skills verbal communication skills and knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework;
- Confident when negotiating with external suppliers and engaging with stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds and level of seniority;
- Possessing the ability to quickly acquire, a deep understanding of the One Defence Capability System (ODCS) and Defence Commercial Framework; and
- Committing to, promote and model the APS Values and APS Code of Conduct.
