Our client is a leading supplier of Hardgoods, DIY & general consumables. They seek a highly experienced Sourcing Assistant Director based in Sydney or Melbourne.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Develop and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies nationally and internationally for a range of products across the categories of hardgoods, DIY, general industrial equipment and consumables and electrical products & tools to meet the organization's needs while achieving cost efficiency and quality standards.
Ensure strong supplier relationships, and contract negotiations, and oversee performance evaluations to uphold service level agreements and quality standards nationally and internationally.
Strong understanding of product specifications, safety standards, and industry best practices for specific categories.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of market trends, product specifications, and regulatory standards to make informed decisions in the procurement process and broader supply chain deliverables.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies throughout the procurement and sourcing activities.
Assess and mitigate potential risks associated with the sourcing process, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and product quality issues.

**Experience & Qualifications**:
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on industrial equipment, electrical products, and safety equipment.
Proven experience in international sourcing and procurement with knowledge of global markets.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in handling ERP systems and procurement software.
It is essential that the individual possesses valid legal authorization to work in Australia.
