Category & Sourcing Specialist (Graduate)

Location: Macquarie Park

Ten Recruitment are pleased to partner with a key client for the recruit of a category and sourcing specialist. The Category and Sourcing Specialist is responsible for actively supporting the Product Manager and or National Category Manager to develop, coordinate and implement strategic activities to deliver the right selection of products at the right price, (promoted based on an understanding of the various customer segments and markets targeted), to achieve revenue and profitability targets. They will also execute the clients sourcing strategy achieving competitive advantage from the supplier base across the various customer segments and product categories targeted. Supporting business improvement projects as required.

**Product & Solution Development**
Collaborate with suppliers to improve customer engagement and commercial outcomes

Provide support to the National Category Manager and or Product Manager and business to improve category performance

Drive cross functional collaboration in developing and executing plans

As guided by the National Category Manager, participate in high-level negotiations, meetings, and tender reviews with sales to ensure deals are effective and commercially sound

Provide support for the exclusive brand range planning, development, and execution.

**Category & Sourcing**
- Assist sales team in delivering customer value proposition
- Optimise total profit from buy price to sell price
- Analyse product categories for profit enhancement opportunities
- Assist in building & leveraging relationship with domestic suppliers
- Actively monitor market trends to detect competitive threats and opportunities
- Assist execution of sourcing and category plans
- Actively participate in development of strategic and annual plans
- Identify product category alternative source of supply opportunities
- Actively support product initiatives in relation to development, sourcing, and price position
- Ensure appropriate product packaging, supply chain and quality policies/procedures are adhered to
- Drive tactical execution of all promotional activities including print, digital, LAM and field days
- Assist in the end-to-end coordination of the client’s range catalogue
- Provide analytical support to assist in the key decision-making process
- Manage the maintenance of the product data content to ensure accuracy and relevant product information

Who would this role suit
- A recent mechanical graduate with 1yrs post graduate experience
- Ideally exposure to or an interest in business-to-business sales.
