Our Leigh Creek Research Facility is a world-class plant breeding site dedicated to developing innovative crop varieties. We are committed to sustainable agriculture and making a positive impact on the global food supply.

The research team are seeking a full time (38 hours per week) Farm Operations Assistant to join our team in a permanent position at our Leigh Creek Research Farm, located just outside Ballarat, Victoria.

As a key member of our research team, you will play a vital role in supporting our plant breeding programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

- **Farm Equipment Operation**: Operating a range of farming equipment for cultivation, sowing, and spraying.
- **Research Support**: Providing practical assistance to our Research Operations Manager and other researchers in the preparation and maintenance of plant trials and sites.
- **Equipment Maintenance**: Ensuring all farm equipment is in optimal condition by undertaking routine maintenance, organizing major services, and promptly addressing equipment issues.
- **General Farm Maintenance**: Maintaining fencing, ensuring the research farm, sheds, and workshops are clean, tidy, and compliant with OH&S regulations.
- **Data Management**: Accurately recording data for spraying, plot weights, fertilization, and irrigation activities.

- Willingness to uplift hours when necessary - harvest and planting seasons
- A strong attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
