In the role of Principal Advisor your primary role will be to support the strategic governance of the Transport System Planning Program (TSPP) Investment Program. In addition, you will lead and/or contribute to the delivery of transport planning projects across the state, including the development of intergovernmental programs and partnerships, such as City Deals.

**Accountabilities include**:

- Provide support for the development and ongoing management of the TSPP Investment Program, including facilitating the development and review of the Program Blueprint, development and implementation of the program's governance and prioritisation framework.
- Undertake a key role in the development of the forward program (TSPP Formulation), including budget scenario testing, priority project formulation and review.
- Provide expert, strategic advice, options and recommendations to the Planning Manager and senior officers on program funding issues, program risks and initiating corrective action as required.
- Lead stakeholder engagement and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to align planning, investment and governance for the development of intergovernmental programs and partnerships, such as City Deals.
- Contribute to strategic transport projects across the state, ensuring that all planning is undertaken in a multi-modal, integrated, affordable and value for money context.
- Identify strategic needs and priorities for development of transport networks including options and recommendations for specific issues.
- Prepare complex ministerial correspondence, project reports, presentations, briefing notes, submissions and other general correspondence.
- Contribute to the positive working environment of the division, including participating in ongoing business improvement processes and mentoring junior staff members.
- Actively participate in performance conversations to build and support a culture of performance improvement.

This role reports to the Planning Manager (Planning Prioritisation and Integration).
