You will be leading the information security function within Technology & Transformation to ensure systems, networks, and data are protected so that the organisation is best positioned to defend and minimise the risk of cyber-attacks. **Your new role**
Working within the Transformation and Technology Department, you will report directly to our Chief Transformation and Technology Officer to ensure the security of all council ICT systems and information. You will lead the design, development and ongoing improvement of our information security strategy, policies and controls. You will play a key role in the ongoing governance of council’s security compliance posture in line with policies and regulatory obligations within the cyber security domain.

As the Cyber Security Lead, you will work at the heart of an exciting transformation agenda in a fast paced environment. You will utilise your skills, be hands-on and manage a small team of employees, contractors and vendors executing core information security functions.

You have expertise and understanding of cyber threats, risks, managing security in a hybrid - on-premise and Azure Cloud - environment, cyber security laws, regulations and industry best practices. Your experience will ensure council’s systems, networks, and data are protected and that the organisation is best positioned to defend and minimise the risk of cyber-attacks.

Your Day to Day responsibilities will include:

- Building council’s information security capability
- Effectively leading the information security function
- Creating and driving an information security culture
- Providing advice and consultancy to all other areas of business on matters related to information security

**What you'll need to succeed**
To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Substantial direct experience working in an information / cyber security role and ideally in the Azure cloud environment.
- Strong knowledge of standards e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO, PCI, data privacy.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory drivers for technology risk and information security
- Demonstrated success in the implementation and maintenance of information security management system frameworks.
- Desirable qualifications or equivalent experience including:

- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- ISO 27001 Lead Auditor
- An understanding and experience of implementing methodologies such as:

- Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Quality Control (ISO 9001)
- ICT Service Management (ISO 20000 and ITIL) processes
- Information Security Management (ISO 270001 and PCI DSS)
- Victorian and Federal Privacy legislation
- An understanding of security architecture and patterns would be beneficial
