About the role
Are you passionate about creating safer digital environments through education and engagement? As the Lead, Cyber Security Awareness you will help shape a proactive, informed and security-aware culture across the university.
In this pivotal role, you’ll take the lead in developing, delivering and continuously improving cyber security awareness programs that empower our people to identify risks and adopt best practices. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure awareness efforts are aligned with organisational goals, while championing a customer-centric mindset that delivers real impact across both digital and physical environments.
With a focus on innovation, culture and collaboration, you’ll drive initiatives that not only protect Deakin from cyber threats but also enhance the experience of our staff and community.
As the Lead, Cyber Security Awareness, you will:
- Lead the design and delivery of engaging, data-driven cyber security awareness programs.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of current initiatives and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with stakeholders across the university to embed cyber security awareness into everyday practices.
- Create compelling training materials and communication campaigns tailored to different audiences.
- Provide expert advice on cyber security awareness, acting as the go-to subject matter expert.
- Stay on top of emerging trends to ensure our programs remain current, effective and impactful.
About you
You’ll have relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience, with a strong background in cyber security — particularly in awareness and education. You have a proven track record of developing and leading impactful training programs in complex environments, along with deep knowledge of cyber threats and the ability to communicate technical concepts in a clear, engaging way.
Please submit your updated resume and a short cover letter outlining your skills and experience.
