**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. You will be responsible for creating a positive and safe environment for our clients by offering them high-quality care based on their individual needs. You will also play a vital role in building their skills that would help them live independently and make their own decisions. You will help them achieve their individual goals that would lead them to meaningful and fulfilling lives.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Experience**: A minimum of 2 years’ experience (Full-time) or 3 years’ experience (Part-time) in the disability and aged care sector.

**Mandatory requirements**:

- Cert IV in Disability or Cert III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (clearance)
- Two Reference checks
- Current police check (less than 6 months old)
- Working with Children Check
- Valid First Aid Certificate issued within the last 3 years
- Valid CPR Certificate issued within the last 12 months
- Evidence of work rights (e.g. Passport, Birth Certificate or Visa)
- Administration of Medication
- Completion Certificate of NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Completion Certificate of New Worker NDIS Induction Model
- Infection Control Certificate
- Valid Driver’s license and insurance

**Desirable Skills**:

- Demonstrated experience supporting high needs clients/clients with behaviours of concern (BoC) including verbal/ physical aggression and self-harm
- Demonstrated experience supporting clients with mental illnesses
- Demonstrated experience with specialty supports, such as Manual Handling, Bowel & Catheter Care, Peg Feeding

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Delivering high-quality person centered support in accordance with the client’s NDIS plan.
- Providing daily living assistance in the home and the community which includes the following but not limited to manual handling, showering, toileting, grooming, meal assistance, meal Preparations, exercise, domestic responsibilities, recreation, personal development, communication, mobility, personal administration, shopping and other independent living skills.
- Promoting physical. mental and emotional wellbeing for the client. (Listening, looking out for them, engaging in a conversation, gauging the physical, mental and emotional states of the client and communicating any issues to the relevant persons
- Ensuring the health and safety of the client and reporting any issues and concerns to the relevant persons
- Promoting residents’ participation in appropriate activities and tasks within the community and at home
- Abiding by the medication administration policy, WHS procedures and client rights and responsibilities
- Assisting client to achieve their NDIS and personal goals
- Ensuring that documentation and information relating to the resident is accurately and appropriately recorded
- Demonstrating a high level of communication with the Manager, team Leader and other Internal Stakeholders including advising of any potential risks to clients or the organization.
- Working harmoniously and collaboratively with colleagues to provide a delightful client experience
- Taking time to greet clients appropriately and
