**The opportunity**:
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same. As the Compliance Operations Manager you will, on a day-to-day basis you will be part of a team of motivated information access professionals that support icare to understand and comply with their obligations under the GIPA Act and other relevant legislation. This includes engaging and with all parts of icare and our multiple schemes. Support and coach members of the Compliance Operations Team to process information access requests, including:

- Focus on compliance with regulatory notices such as GIPA notices and other notices under the State Insurance and Care Governance Act, workers compensation legislation or other legislation related to the scheme which are managed by icare
- Work closely with the Legal team to ensure compliance with the regulatory notices are appropriate and have a legal basis, and that any applicable exemptions are properly applied
- Assess and evaluate policies and procedures to support the achievement of the identified compliance objectives, and recommend improvements to business operations where necessary
- Assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation plans associated with compliance operations

Reporting to the Head of Compliance Operations, this is a senior role with responsibility and oversight of the processing of information access requests and for ensuring compliance with the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. This opportunity would be suitable for an experienced team leader interested in expanding their skills in another agency/environment, or for a senior practitioner looking for an opportunity to step-up into a role with greater accountabilities.

**Your story so far**:
You are a highly motivated leader of people and process, flexible, and passionate about making a difference in your workplace. You will be expected to take a “fresh eyes” approach to your role, bringing a commitment to the principles of good governance, along with the creativity and open-mindedness to embed these principles in ways that supports icare.
- Contemporary exposure and experience within the regulatory notice compliance working environment, including resolving complex requests in a high-volume environment
- Advanced people and stakeholder skills, in a highly regulated public or private sector environment
- Experience in providing accurate and succinct updates to senior management in relation to large &/or complex issues
- Extensive experience in compliance and/or risk frameworks across the insurance or similar industries
- A range of experience in analysing and reporting on compliance management strategies
- Experience as compliance practitioner, ideally in the insurance (or care) sector
- Tertiary qualifications within a relevant discipline such as law, governance, policy, or risk, (this will be an advantage but not mandatory)
