Our client is a conglomerate Australian organization within the manufacturing industry, committed to providing safe and healthy working conditions for all their employees. They have a National presence and are considered leaders within the industry. As a part of their ongoing commitment to safety, they are seeking an experienced National Workplace Health & Safety Officer to join their team.
**About the Role**:
As the National Workplace Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, guidance and support to our organization on all matters related to workplace health and safety. You will be responsible for developing and implementing their health and safety policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop, update and implement workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for the implementation of risk control measures
- Provide expert advice and guidance to management and staff on health and safety issues
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards
- Develop and deliver health and safety training programs
- Manage, Coordinate and administer Safety Audits and Risk Assessments for the Group
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, and implement corrective and preventative actions
- Manage the Group's Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including the annual order, distribution and replacement
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
**Requirements**:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role
- Relevant qualifications in health and safety, such as a Diploma or Bachelor's degree
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for risk control measures
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Willingness to travel interstate as required
