**About the role**

To support our success we are currently seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join the Sustainable Investments teams based in Sydney or Brisbane.

As a Portfolio Analyst - Stewardship, you will work with members of the Sustainable Investment team, other colleagues at Australian Retirement Trust and external service providers to support the implementation of Australian Retirement Trust’s investment stewardship program.

In this role you will:

- Conduct company-specific research and analysis on material ESG risks such as climate change and other environment-related risks, human rights and labour practices, human capital management, and corporate governance.
- Contribute to setting investment stewardship objectives for investee companies.
- Monitor progress of investee companies against investment stewardship objectives.
- Prepare for and participate in engagement meetings with investee companies.
- Contribute to proxy voting through company-specific research and analysis.
- Support delivery of timely and accurate reporting on stewardship activities to internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain trusted working relationships with key internal stakeholders.

**About you**

If this is the right role for you, your skills and qualifications will include:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (preferably in finance, accounting, economics, commerce, law, or science).
- 2-7 years of work experience in the investment or financial services industries, preferably in investment research, sustainable investments/ESG/corporate governance research, investor relations, and/or company engagement.
- Familiarity with SASB Standards, GRI,
- Experience with (or aptitude for) engaging with board members and C-suite executives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication and presentation skills.
- High analytical and problem-solving capability with a strong attention to detail, complemented with intellectual curiosity and a growth mindset.
- High familiarisation with the market environment.
