**About the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations**
We enable access to quality skills, training and employment services to support Australians find secure work in fair, productive and safe workplaces - supporting individuals and our nation to prosper.

**The Role**
The Fair Entitlements Guarantee (FEG) is a safety net scheme of last resort that provides financial assistance to eligible employees for unpaid employment entitlements when they have lost their job due to the liquidation or bankruptcy of their employer.

The FEG Branch is responsible for receiving claims for payments from former employees who have not been paid their entitlements, assessing their claims and determining the amounts they can be paid. The FEG Contact and Initial Assessment (FEGCIA) Team within the FEG Branch is the main point of contact for the scheme. The Team performs a variety of functions, including managing a Hotline and mailbox to handle enquiries, undertaking the initial stages of assessing FEG claims, and liaising with company administrators to seek necessary information to finalise claims.

The vacancy is a Team Leader position within FEGCIA, where you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and management skills in a program management setting. You will report to the Assistant Director of the FEGCIA Team, have direct supervisory responsibility for two officers and will be responsible for managing approximately 8 9 people, including a team of Hotline officers, as well as officers who undertake initial eligibility checks on claims. You will also be part of the team’s leadership cohort, and get exposure to all aspects of program administration.

People who work with us typically find a high level of job satisfaction through working in the FEG program, as it has a direct impact for Australians at a difficult time in their lives.

We are committed to investing in our people to grow their capability in FEG program management, including supporting them to develop a strong knowledge and understanding of the Workplace Relations framework.

- Working constructively and flexibly with people across the Branch to deliver program priorities.
- Reporting to team management on the work outputs of your sub team, operational implications of emerging issues and possible solutions to problems, and staffing issues.
