**Develop curriculum**:
Get ready to put your instructional design skills to use You will collaborate with our experienced medical staff and educators to develop innovative and engaging educational materials. From helping in creating and delivering weekly teaching materials (VBG, ECG, CXR, Clinical case) to organising teaching sessions, hands-on workshops and courses (Team leader school, ACUTE), you will have the chance to design and contribute to the comprehensive curriculum that addresses the unique needs of emergency medicine.

**Pursue a formal qualification of health professional education**:
As a Medical Education Special Skills registrar, **you can pursue a Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education or an equivalent qualification.** The hospital will fully cover the program's cost, demonstrating our commitment to your professional development. Additionally, you will receive dedicated support from an Education Consultant throughout your journey, ensuring you have the resources and guidance you need to excel.

**Take on the role of education registrar, and with your expertise and creativity, lead the emergency education at JHC ED**

**Brief Summary of the job description**:

- 12-month appointment 0.5 FTE Special Skills post for Medical education.
- Completion of logbook and education portfolio/project as per ACEM requirements
- Supervised by FACEM consultants with extended qualifications in education, simulation, and debriefing.
- Dedicated non-clinical time to pioneer new modalities in medical education.
- Clinical FTE: undertakes clinical shifts overseeing the care of all patients, supervising junior doctors, and promoting the well-being of patients and staff.

**Se**lection criteria**:
***Essential**:

- Eligible for registration by the Medical Board of Australia.
- Registered as a late phase Advanced Trainee with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to provide medical education, teaching, supervision, training and support to resident medical officers and interns.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, medical students, junior doctors and staff at all levels.
- Demonstrated participation in continuing medical education activities including regular performance reviews to maintain and upgrade knowledge & skills
- Engagement with the Australian Curriculum Framework for junior doctors

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Demonstrated ability to lead a team in Emergency including clinical decision making and flow management.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement of patient outcomes.
- Demonstration of continued professional development specifically acute care medicine eg: ALS, APLS EMST
