**The Role**

This role involves offering direct, hands-on support to clients in their homes, nursing homes, or healthcare facilities. Duties include helping with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily activities, monitoring health conditions, assisting with medication administration, and providing companionship. The nursing support worker ensures that the patient’s comfort, dignity, and overall well-being are maintained at all times, while also working collaboratively with healthcare teams to contribute to the patient’s overall care plan.
- Assist high complex patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Support patients with mobility, including transfers, walking, and use of assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse).
- Assist in medication administration and management under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Help with light housekeeping duties, including laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation.
- Provide emotional and social support to patients, helping to maintain mental and emotional well-being.
- Assist with repositioning bedridden patients and preventing pressure ulcers.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals to report changes in the patient’s condition.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for the patient, following infection control protocols.
