
Service and Assembly Technician

We are seeking a full-time Service and Assembly Technician with a strong understanding of 12V DC systems and basic control systems. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, assembly, repair, refurbishment, and upgrading of various electronic devices used in traffic management and road safety. The role involves both workshop-based tasks and occasional on-site service work across South East Queensland.
Your duties will include flashing firmware updates, consulting with engineering teams, and performing basic mechanical fit-outs using minor hand tools. Familiarity with 12V solar systems and auxiliary battery systems is essential, and any experience with auto electrical systems will be highly valued.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of new electronic products as we expand our SmartSite network for road safety solutions.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Install, assemble, repair, and upgrade 12V DC electronic devices such as VMS signs, arrow boards, and portable traffic signals.
- Flash firmware updates and work with basic control systems.
- Consult with engineering teams to ensure accurate and effective installations and upgrades.
- Perform basic mechanical fit-outs using minor hand tools.
- Work with 12V solar and auxiliary battery systems.
- Provide on-site service and support to customers across South East Queensland as needed.
**You**:
- Previous experience as a Service Technician, particularly in a similar field, is highly valued.
- Basic knowledge of auto electrical systems, with a strong understanding of 12V DC systems.
- Familiarity with flashing firmware updates and working with control systems.
- Proficient in using hand tools for mechanical fit-outs.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations around South East Queensland as required.
- Keen interest in being involved in product development and innovation.
