
Event Manager

We are a leading provider of cleaning services and looking for an **Event Manager **to join our Major Events Team in Melbourne on a full time and ongoing basis. This role will ordinarily be based at our offices in South Yarra, however during major event planning and delivery the Event Manager will be working at the venue / site.
To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate that you are a **strong leader **with **experience in venue or major event operations and managing large event delivery workforce**. You will be able to demonstrate **excellent communication skills**, **an ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders** and **lead a team in a diverse and fast-paced environment**.
You will be **self motivated**, an excellent project manager who is **driven to exceed targets**, **solution focussed **and **calm under pressure**. Some of the key **Event Manager** responsibilities will include:
**Client Service**
- Manage all event operations (cleaning services), including having a clear understanding of the agreed scope of works and the integrated management plan, which sets out contract specific responsibilities, agreed resources, procedures and practices.
- Build and maintain excellent internal and external relationships.
- Identify issues and provide solutions, ensuring actions are completed and followed.
**Client Delivery**
- Lead and manage event operations including planning, precinct / venue and event pre-clean, bump in and out schedules, post clean and operational delivery during the event.
- Work according to set budgetary constraints thereby retaining profitability.
- Complete reporting requirements, as per contractual or business requirements.
- Conduct cleaning inspections in accordance with agreed inspection plan(s), ensuring outcomes are reported and any actions closed out within agreed timeframes.
- Complete reactive and planned invoicing, ensuring accuracy.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed within the business and that equipment is maintained in a safe operating condition.
- Review and provide onsite training relating to cleaning methods and standards.
**People Management / Leadership**
- Lead, manage and motivate the event cleaning service and delivery teams.
- Manage labour costs through provision of timely and accurate information to ensure employees are paid in accordance with the relevant awards and according to duties/hours of work.
- Manage workforce planning, including rostering in accordance with budget and contract scope, time and attendance approval and covering unplanned absences.
- Create an environment where team members can suggest new ideas to improve the business.
