**The Role**

The Sustainability Strategy Manager develops, leads and delivers the program of work that delivers on sustainability elements of the Bank’s strategy and ambition to deliver banking that’s good for customers and good for the world.

Success in this role means proactively identifying, understanding and enabling the bank to respond to sustainability-related opportunities and risks in the industry. It means staying at the forefront of customer needs and delivering compelling propositions that enable both the bank and our customers to make a positive impact on the world. It also means supporting the business to design and implement products and services that deliver on our sustainability promise.

The Sustainability Strategy Manager works collaboratively across the Bank and leads the team delivering sustainability performance management and reporting and oversees ongoing implementation of the UN Principles for Responsible Banking. Complementary programs of work include the Financial Inclusion Action Plan, Reconciliation Action Plan and Climate Change Action Plan.

**What you’ll do**
- Deliver the comprehensive suite of initiatives that enhance ESG outcomes in line with the Bank’s strategy, supporting measurable progress on customer and business scorecards
- Support the business to design and deliver sustainability-aligned propositions aligned to our customer promise of ‘Banking You Can Feel Good About’
- Enhance the Bank’s ESG opportunity identification capability, underpinning an understanding of areas of overall ESG opportunity
- Support Bank Executives to incorporate sustainability-related insights into decision making and ensure that ESG measures are adopted into work practices and strategic initiative success metrics where appropriate
- Input into Bank strategy development, both for ESG as a broader trend and as a specific growth space
- Proactively identify and drive alignment opportunities with complementary programs of work, including but not limited to the Financial Inclusion Action Plan and Climate Change Action Plan
- Forge and take ownership for relationships and strategic alignment with other key functions, such as Bank Governance, Risk, Customer Advocate, Corporate Affairs, Marketing and Product
- Take ownership for the coaching, leadership and guidance of teams requiring increasing levels of ESG acumen, driving an integrated facts-based approach to ESG opportunities and threats

**What you’ll bring**
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Data Analytics, Management/Strategy, Communications, Economics or related disciplines (desired)
- Post-graduate qualification in ESG, Sustainability or Corporate Responsibility (desired)
- 3+ years’ experience leading major programs in the sustainability space (mandatory), preferably in Banking or Financial Services (desired)
- 3+ years’ experience in strategy and/or customer propositions (desired)
- 3+ years’ leadership experience (desired)
- Proven experience in the development and driving of strategic / organisational wide change across a large diverse workforce (mandatory)
