The new PFS offers high-quality, safe, and value-based fertility services for all eligible Victorians including people who are single, Aboriginal, LGBTIQ+, living with a disability, from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, from regional and rural communities and/or living on low incomes.
Building on decades of leadership in fertility care the PFS offers a full range of integrated services including:
- Fertility assessment and management, including consultations, fertility investigations, ovulation monitoring/tracking and ovulation induction
- Assisted reproductive treatments, as well as counselling, information and support
- A publicly run fertility preservation program so people with cancer or other health issues can have their tissue stored and retrieved for future us
**Your contribution**
As our Counselling Manager PFS you will develop, oversee, manage and report on all aspects of our Fertility Counselling Services to ensure the highest possible standards of evidenced based contemporary counselling services are provided to every patient.
You will lead operational planning, operational procedures, information management, business processes and reporting. Through your understanding of Assistant Reproductive Treatments (ART) laws and regulations and RTAC Code of Practice, you will ensure the service complies with all statutory requirements.
To succeed in this role, you will be a confident people leader. You will train in therapeutic treatment models of counselling specific to fertility care, supervise, and develop the counselling team.
**Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following**:
- Ensuring all services meet relevant Codes of Practice, legislation and guidelines and are aligned to The Women’s vision and values
- Leading the planning, development, delivery, monitoring, quality assurance, risk mitigation and continuous improvement of the Counselling Services to deliver a world class service.
- Develop and enhance services that recognise the impact of social, cultural and gender determinants on health and wellbeing.
- Provide inspirational leadership in your clinical area that inspires others towards higher levels of performance that are aligned with The Women’s vision and values.
**About you**
To be successful within this role you will need to:
- Be a member of, or eligible for membership of the Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors Association (ANZICA).
- Have at least a 4-year tertiary academic qualification from a recognised academic institution for the relevant profession deemed suitable by the Australian professional association/s or regulation agencies (see below)
- Current registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without restrictions or,
- A member of, or is eligible for membership of, the Australian Association of Social Workers or,
- Has other equivalent professional and academic qualifications from Australia, New Zealand or from other countries
- Have at least two years' postgraduate counselling experience in fertility and reproductive medicine.
- Demonstrate current knowledge of all areas of fertility, including infertility and assisted reproduction treatments including a sound understanding of RTAC Code of Practice and other ART and fertility counselling legislations and guidelines.
- Have evidence of ongoing professional development in this field, as verified by an ANZICA Supervisor, with an evidenced minimum 10 hours ongoing professional development in ART and fertility counselling in the past 12 months.
- Have commitment to working as part of a multidisciplinary fertility unit that offers exceptional experiences to patients in a public hospital.
Salary will commensurate with relevant experience, qualifications and other relevant enterprise agreement requirements.
