An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join Corporate Services as Adviser, Health Safety and Wellbeing, in the People and Culture team at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The People and Culture unit works across the department and its portfolio agencies, to create a high performing workplace that puts people first.
As the Adviser, Health Safety and Wellbeing you will provide advice, support and reporting on a broad range of health, safety and wellbeing issues, including WorkCover case management and assisting with the implementation and management of key policies, procedures and initiatives.
In this role you will Support the Senior Adviser with the management of the OH&S Management Systems and OHS contract management. You will also act as the first point of contact for Health, Safety and Wellbeing queries, providing sound advice and support on a broad range of health, safety and wellbeing issues to executives, managers and relevant staff.
This position offers the opportunity to uitilise your excellent problem solving, communication and relationship building skills and work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
About you
- Demonstrated experience in providing succinct and clear expert advice on a range of health and safety and change management issues.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (2004) the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013.
- Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationships with a diverse stakeholder group.
- Sound problem solving and analytical skills.

To be able to meet the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination requirements and for the department to meet its obligations under the OH&S Act, the department will request employees provide their vaccination information (including 3rd dose / booster) or evidence of an exemption throughout the recruitment process. Inability to provide this may impact your subsequent employment to the department.
