**About the Business Unit**

The Safety Quality Assurance Adviser sits within Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance, a branch of People, Safety and Culture in the Department of Justice and Community Safety. The Safety, Wellbeing and Compliance branch provides process, systems and services to support the Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) to meet its responsibilities under Health and Safety Laws (_Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, Dangerous Goods Act 1985 and Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013_).

People, Safety and Culture core functions span the breadth of workplace cultural and people matters, including human resource policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment, and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations.

**About the Role**

The Safety Quality Assurance Adviser leads the refinement, enhancement, monitoring and evaluation of the department's OHSMS, to ensure process improvement and the provision of user focused documentation and tools to provide a proactive system addressing health and safety risks and meeting legislative and industry standards. The Safety Quality Assurance Adviser actively develops, enhances, and implements user-driven access to the occupational health and safety management system through the departments intranet platform, including the engagement of users, user feedback and monitoring system use and activity.

**About You**
- Thrive on making complex topics easy to understand
- Have strong written communication skills
- Have a proactive can-do attitude, be flexible and comfortable working in a fluid environment
- Have solid organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Be experienced in utilising HPE Content Manager (TRIM), MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Qualifications/Requirments:_
- A tertiary qualification or progress towards in an OHS or related discipline is desirable
- Formal training in the implementation and maintenance of OHS management systems
- Lead auditor in OHS management systems.
