The position reports into the Wabtec Logistics & Analytics (L&A) group and is specifically focused on the ongoing engineering to support project delivery of the Track IQ portfolio of products.

**Responsibilities**:
Provide electromechanical design and drafting inputs to the development of Track IQ products and delivery of projects Prepare production drawing packs and work with the Production Team and vendors to get quotations and incorporate their feedback Liaise with project engineers to gather requirements for and develop site integration drawings (wiring diagrams, civil layouts) for the implementation of Track IQ’s products to customers sites Follow and help enforce the drawing management system Provide suggestions for the continuous improvement of the document management system Help establish, improve and maintain quality control processes and systems and documentation Help instill a culture throughout the Track IQ business in line with the Wabtec values of Safety, Customer Focus, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Leadership

Working Relationships

This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

There are no direct reports to this position.

The position has other relationships across the Track IQ business as follows:

- Support the Production Manager with clear and timely inputs into the production process
- Support Project Engineers to deliver their projects on time and within budget
- Support Business Development Managers with technical inputs to tender responses and proposals

Qualifications and Skills

The applicant must have:

- Tertiary or trade level qualifications in drafting and/or electronic/mechanical/mechatronic engineering
- Industry experience working as a product designer / draftsman
- Industry experience working with electromechanical systems
- Experience working in the rail industry
- Experience working with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Altium and SolidWorks PDM
- Clear, effective communication and English language skills, both written and oral
- Good personal management and interpersonal skills
- Compentency in the use of Microsoft Windows operating sytems and the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Ability to create formal documentation: e.g. information request responses, quotations, work instructions, product documentation
- The ability to work under pressures of weekly, monthly and project deadlines
- Customer focus - a work ethic where the customer is put first and responses to customer queries, issues and support needs are focused on
- Organisation - dedication to planning, implementing, following and enforcing quality processes
- Relationship building - ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
- An enthusiastic attitude to hard work, learning new skills, and going above and beyond to achieve customer satisfaction

Preferred:

- Competency in the following software and computing disciplines: SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Altium, SolidWorks PDM
- Competency in the installation, setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of software, electrical and mechanical systems
- Competency in the use of common mechanical and electrical discipline hand tools
- Technical knowledge of Track IQ systems architecture, functionality, output and data interpretation
