Our client is a leading blue-collar heavy industry organisation, that has a well-respected, market-leading brand within their industry. The Exec Head of HR has decided to create a new National ER Manager role to partner across their corporate office and number of sites, and work strategically and operationally, handling the resolution of ER cases in a unionized environment, business as usual matters, EBA negotiations as well as advising on IR policy and advising on risk when it comes to on any transformational organisational change.

In this role, you will also take a lead in upkeeping relationships with and managing key negotiations with trade unions and other representative forums on enterprise agreements, with a view to securing business performance, employee engagement, and legal compliance. It also provides coaching and development for line managers in order to support high-performance culture and engagement across the company.

You will also be responsible for conducting the investigations of all employee relations matters relating to alleged breaches of people and culture policy and practice, as well as individual case management of employment disputes, grievance resolution, and other escalated People issues.

To be successful in the role you will bring the following;
- Substantial experience in working in an individual contributor ER Manager position, handling employee relations matters within a large complex, blue-collar, unionised organisation;
- Experience in creating and implementing employee relations interventions that have a demonstrable impact on organisational success;
- Ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels within an organisation, including advising the HR team;
- Ability to negotiate EA's within unionised environments;
- Flexible approach to problem-solving, balancing policy, best practice, legal and business issues to provide pragmatic solutions;
- Credible expert with the ability to influence; evidenced through delivery and up-to-date knowledge;
- A legal background (practicing or non-practicing solicitor) would be helpful but not mandatory.
