**The Opportunity**
Our Assurance & Risk Advisory team is experiencing high demand for its services as it continues to build on its reputation as an outstanding, and experienced specialist group of professionals. Due to this rapid growth are looking for an Audit Manager to join our Assurance & Risk Advisory teams in Brisbane and Canberra.

The responsibilities will include involvement in the completion of internal audits of varied size and scope. In addition to the technical aspects, this role will also oversee and monitor the workflow of of the team and operate as an internal audit specialist allowing for knowledge transfer and training of staff.

**The day-to-day duties**:

- Perform relevant audits in line with the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) International Professional Practice Framework, IIA and Information System Audit & Control Association standards, Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (Australian) and in line with the ethical standards as prescribed by CAANZ/CPA Australia.
- Develop superior technical knowledge in line with the most up to date knowledge of standards.
- Actively participate in the supervision and coaching of a team of graduate, intermediate and senior staff, including role modelling professional standards and behaviour through both pre and post work discussions and reviewing processes.
- Responsible for monitoring individual client list and managing and delegating client work to senior, intermediate and graduate staff.
- Participate in the Performance review processes of junior staff, assisting in the setting and monitoring of performance related goals through feedback.
- Work with the Directors on more complex technical issues.
- Answer client queries regarding complex business advice and proactive strategies and liaise with external agencies.
- Develop and work with a network of contacts, maintaining regular touch points and effective relationships with key decision makers.
- Responsibility for servicing a range of clients including proactively conducting client meetings to receive and discuss information.
- Maintain a high level of understanding of your clients' businesses and industries as well as issues affecting clients.
- Monitor team performance, productivity and professional development including work-in-progress, client fees and performance to budget.
- Resolve issues identified by staff and making recommendations to management on issues such as morale, team effectiveness, client service and efficiency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of software, systems, and work practices by recommending solutions and strategies.
- Manage and develop expertise and skills in a specific area of technical interest which enhances the firm's reputation, fulfills a service gap, and develops a referral base.
- Actively contribute to firm-wide networking opportunities.

**What we'd like you to have**:

- Bachelor of Accounting/Commerce or Finance or Business-related degree.
- Proven experience in a similar role is essential, internal audit experience is necessary.
- Completed or progressing CA ANZ or CPA accreditation.
- Advanced knowledge of current internal audit concepts and standards.
- Recent knowledge in the use of Caseware audit software is desirable.
- Baseline security clearance or eligibility to obtain (highly desirable).
