**Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time**
**Hours per week: 38 hours. The role will work shifts across 365 days / 24 hours in accordance with operating roster.**
**Position Grade: Security Officer**
**Salary: $55,189.80 base per annum**
**Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Health Employees Agreement 2019**

**About the role**:
A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated security officer with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team.

**The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for**:
Facilitating a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors; the protection of property and assets within the available resources allocated to the department.
Working as part of a team in collaboration with other staff, to assist with managing patients, provide assistance to visitors, and assist with protecting staff and securing the assets of the facility
Ensuring security service delivery is underpinned by the code of conduct for personnel working across St Vincent’s Health Network Campus Darlinghurst; St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney and St Vincent’s Clinic
As part of their Class 1A license, can lawfully protect people within the premises that are being guarded (note the term ‘guard’ is used in the Security Industry legislation in the description for a 1A license)

**Selection Criteria**:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia
2. Minimum of 2 years relevant security experience in a challenging environment with a working knowledge of security industry standards and relevant legislation
3. Recent experience in the use of electronic security systems and infrastructure
4. Demonstrated advanced conflict resolution skills
5. Demonstrated understanding of customer service approach to security activities with an ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships
6. Demonstrated high level of self-motivation and initiative with a professional approach to the role
7. Must hold NSW security license 1A; NSW Driver’s License ‘C’ and current relevant first aid certificate
8. Sound knowledge and understanding of risk assessment; personal safety; break away techniques and team restraint.
